The Night Watch wins the ‘Casino De Santiago’ European Novel Award

Sarah Waters has won the Casino De Santiago award for her novel The Night Watch.
The award is voted for by readers from the city of Santiago de Compostela, and aims to promote both the joy of reading and a pro-European spirit. Any European novel is eligible, and previous winners include Ian McEwan (Atonement) and Zadie Smith (On Beauty).
